KATHMANDU, Aug 12: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has instructed the Chandbagh School to vacate the public land it has encroached upon in the next two days.
The KMC said that the school located in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-3, has encroached on 10 ropanis of public land.
The KMC that is engaged in a public land protection campaign, has instructed the school to vacate the encroached land within two days.
KMC issues 7-day ultimatum to vacate land of Lalita Niwas area
Based on the decision of the then chairman of the Bansbari Leather and Shoe Factory, six ropanis of land was allocated for Champion Footwear on August 22, 1987, and an additional four ropanis on December 4, 1987, making a total of 10 ropanis of land registered under plot number 50.
However, 10 ropanis of land of Bansbari Leather and Shoe Factory came under the name of the government on March 22, 2024.
The Land Reform and Management Office in Dillibazar issued the land ownership certificate for the property to Ward No-3 on July 23, 2024. After receiving the certificate, the ward instructed Chandbagh School to vacate the land.
According to the Metropolis Police, although the KMC had previously issued a notice to vacate the public land, they gave two days time to vacate the land.
