She said that many people doing business in the metropolis are doing it informally and urged them to register their business and come under the formal business. Deputy Mayor Dangol said that many businessmen take business registration as a medium of government taking tax from them and added that business registration is not just about tax but also about widening their business.

She admitted that the metropolis is in a state of confusion on whether or not to address the demands of the unregistered traders/businesses. Dangol also said that looking at the records of business registration, there are few businesses that have been registered while the businesses that are in operation and not registered are more. She mentioned that policies and programs of the metropolis fail when many businesses are not registered.
