KATHMANDU, March 28: Urban Development Minister Ram Kumari Jhakri has said that the integrated settlement plan built after the earthquake was not effective. She said that although the government has put forward the plan of integrated settlement in its policy and program, the implementation of them has not been effective.
Congratulating the newly-elected working committee of the Nepal Infrastructure Journalists' Society at the Ministry on Sunday, Minister Jhakri said that the government had planned to build an integrated settlement after the earthquake but it could not be used.

She said, "The government has started the work of integrated settlement construction with various aims and purposes, but it has not been used effectively." She also stated that they are doing their homework to reconsider some of the policies and programs of the ministry.
Stating that it is pleasant to see an organization of journalists who have been writing on issues related to the infrastructure development sector, she said that the infrastructure sector is an important aspect of the country. Chairman of the Nepal Infrastructure Journalists' Society, Jeevan Basnet, said that the organization expects assistance from the ministry to enhance the thematic capacity of journalists working in the field of infrastructure.
