Import resumes via Rasuwagadhi-Kerung Highway

RASUWA, Oct 30: Imports have resumed through the Rasuwagadhi border point, following the resumption of traffic along the Rasuwagadhi-Kerung highway, which had been blocked due to the recent floods caused by heavy rains.

RASUWA, Oct 30: Imports have resumed through the Rasuwagadhi border point, following the resumption of traffic along the Rasuwagadhi-Kerung highway, which had been blocked due to the recent floods caused by heavy rains.


According to the Rasuwa Customs Office, four containers of apples, two containers of pears and three containers of walnuts were imported through this route on Tuesday. Additionally, 76 cargo containers from Kerung entered Nepal via the Miteri Bridge, three cargo containers carrying Nepali products and 49 containers for importing goods were sent to China.

The revenue collection by the Rasuwa Customs Office has decreased due to the closure of highways and halt in imports. Rabindra Pyakurel, information officer of the customs office, said that the state lost Rs 2.5 billion in revenue due to the halt in trade caused by the blockage of the highway.
