I am in love with music!

I have fallen in love with a number of songs over the years. I don’t subscribe to a particular genre and I don’t have a collection of artists whom I worship. When I listen to music, I fall in love with the words of the song. I love their beautiful craft; some dipped in the sweetness of love, some tainted with longings of melancholy and others pregnant with poisonous promises and desires.

‘Euphoria’ by Loreen is my all-time favorite song. I put it on a repeat mode so something off tune doesn’t obscure its flow. I continue to fall in love with the song that makes my heart pound and my soul soar with each syllable uttered. As the motes of dust settle on my skin in lazy afternoons under the yellow sunlight, laid down on my duvet, I close my eyes and sink into the most blissful of slumbers.

The notes glide in sync with the foams and bubbles that cascade down my slippery body in the shower. With each high and low, it travels down the soft curves and crevices of my body. During long rides into the melting twilight, the wisps of my locks twist and turn around my earphones, music seeping warmth into my soul as the wind hits my frostbitten face and chapped lips.

I love how humans are capable of molding meanings out of words, colors into symbols, influencing words and the simplest of noises to carve lyrics and music out of it. I love how alphabets transform into words and words into lyrics that imprint itself straight into your soul. It can be very relatable. I love how some songs makes memories flash back, makes you remember someone who means so much to you, ignites hope in your heart and lifts up your spirit.

I sometimes feel my heart ache and my eyes cloud over with all the unfulfilled that remains suppressed within me. Other times I feel my heart ache more so, because I’m so happy.

Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder, they say. For me, it’s what I hear. I’m in love with music.
