Govt seeks suggestions on appointment procedures for transitional justice officials

KATHMANDU, Oct 29: The government has sought suggestions and feedback on a draft of procedures for appointing chairpersons and members at the Commission for Investigation of Enforced Disappeared Persons and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. The timeline for furnishing suggestions and responses to the draft is 48 hours.

KATHMANDU, Oct 29: The government has sought suggestions and feedback on a draft of procedures for appointing chairpersons and members at the Commission for Investigation of Enforced Disappeared Persons and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. The timeline for furnishing suggestions and responses to the draft is 48 hours. 


The Selection Procedures (2081 BS) are meant to facilitate the appointment of officials in the twin transitional justice bodies as per the October 27 recommendation of the government-formed recommendation committee.

A notice to this effect was published on the websites of both the commissions on Monday. The notice is also available on a notice board at the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs. 


Suggestions can be submitted via emails to the ministry, and both the commissions, according to a press statement issued by the Ministry.
