SARLAHI, Dec 11: Two Nepali Congress (NC) cadres were injured in a clash that erupted between the former and the Rastriya Janata Party (RJP) in Sarlahi district on Monday.
The police had to fire teargas shells to take the situation under control. The clash between the two parties took place over the postponement of the vote count while the negotiation was underway. The vote count was halted at 10:30 pm Sunday night.

NC candidate Amaresh Singh and RJP candidate Rakesh Kumar Mishra are having a tough contest in Sarlahi-4.
The clash erupted at a time when Mishra was taking lead with 16, 318 votes against 15, 936 votes obtained by Singh.
RJP cadres and representatives had abandoned the counting center following discovery of a ballot box which had only four seals. Every ballot box should have seven seals. This ballot box was brought from Jabdi booth based in Balara village, the home town of Singh. The political parties including RJP have been demanding reelections.
