In the face of the escalating Israel-Hamas conflict, a dire situation has emerged for Nepali citizens residing and working in Israel. The news of a potential massive ground offensive by Israel against Hamas operatives raises serious concerns about the safety and well-being of Nepali students and workers in Israel. As the conflict intensifies, the risk to the lives of Nepali citizens, both in the farm sector and other sectors, has significantly increased. The situation is rapidly deteriorating, making it crucial for the Government of Nepal to take immediate and decisive measures to ensure the safety and timely evacuation of those willing to return home. A total of 254 Nepali nationals were successfully repatriated from Israel to Nepal on Friday morning, with efforts being made to bring back the remaining individuals who wish to return. However, with over 500 Nepalis expressing their desire to return, it is imperative for the government to expedite the evacuation process and provide necessary support. Among the concerns are the injuries sustained by Nepali citizens during the attacks by Hamas militants. At least one of the missing Nepali nationals is feared to have been abducted by the militants. A concerted effort is essential to locate and ensure the safety of the missing individuals.

We join the nation mourning the loss of lives of ten Nepali students who were pursuing studies at Sudurpaschim University. Our thoughts and prayers are with their families during this difficult time. The delay in repatriating the bodies of the deceased adds to the anguish of their loved ones. We urge the government to expedite the necessary procedures and coordinate closely with Israeli authorities to facilitate the swift repatriation of the mortal remains to Nepal. The families of the deceased and those anxiously waiting for the return of their loved ones deserve timely and accurate information regarding the repatriation process. Clear communication and regular updates are crucial in providing them with the much-needed reassurance and support. In light of the ongoing crisis and the potential risks to the lives of Nepali citizens in Israel, the government must explore all available means to evacuate and ensure the safety of those willing to return. Additionally, assistance should be extended to those who choose to stay, providing them with adequate information and support to navigate the challenging circumstances. The role of our embassy in Israel is critical in this regard.

As the nation mourns over the loss of 10 Nepali students, we appreciate the efforts of the government and the entire rescue team for their dedication and commitment to the safe repatriation of 254 Nepali nationals from Israel. However, we emphasize the need for a swift, coordinated, and decisive response from the government to mitigate the risks faced by our citizens in the conflict zone. We urge the government to prioritize the safety and well-being of our fellow citizens in Israel. The government needs to act swiftly to facilitate their evacuation and ensure that necessary support and information are provided to alleviate the distress faced by their families. The clock is ticking, and the urgency of the situation cannot be overstated. Every moment counts, and we urge the government to act promptly and decisively to safeguard the lives of our people caught in this harrowing situation.
