KATHMANDU, July 26: The Department of Revenue Investigation (DRI) has recovered several cartons labeled as 'brake shoes' from a house in Kamalpokhari, Kathmandu.
The cartons labeled as brake shoes were recovered during a special raid carried out jointly by the DRI and the Armed Police Force (APF). The DRI and APF teams have subsequently seized them for further examination and investigation.
Controversial businessman Adukia suspected to have flown abroad...
According to sources within the DRI, there is a suspicion that the brake shoes may contain gold. This suspicion arose due to a prior incident in which the DRI had intercepted more than 100 kg of gold concealed in similar cartons labeled as brake shoes at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) Customs Department.
The ownership of the seized items remains unclear, and the authorities are currently working to establish the connection between the cartons and any potential individuals or entities.
The DRI has not released any further details on the raid. The house belongs to a businessman Rakesh Adukiya.
