KATHMANDU, Oct 23: Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Centre) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has criticized the government for allegedly prioritizing the protection of corrupt individuals during its first 100 days in office.
Chairman Dahal made these remarks during a meeting with officials from the Nepal Intellectual Organization on Wednesday morning in Kathmandu. “The government has reached its 100-day mark, and our suspicions at the time of its formation have now been confirmed,” he said. “It is clear that the government has failed in its responsibilities and is instead focusing on actions that should not be taken.”

Chairman Dahal highlighted several instances that he believes demonstrate the government’s alignment with corrupt practices, including attempts to remove the Managing Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority while addressing industrial arrears, the attempt of dismissal of the deputy speaker over minor technical issues, and the prime minister's involvement in land donations from disputed businessmen.
Dahal said that five opposition parties have submitted a memorandum urging the government to cease its misguided actions and concentrate on necessary works. He expressed his intention to meet with the President Ram Chandra Paudel to address the government’s activities and announced that his party is prepared to take to the streets against its wrongdoings.
Additionally, Dahal mentioned that a vigilance meeting would be held in Kathmandu on October 26, organized by Bagmati Province, Special Provincial Coordination Committee of the party.
