KATHMANDU, Jan 15: The rival faction led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Madhav Kumar Nepal in the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has been preparing to oust Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli from the party as a disciplinary action.
According to the faction, PM Oli has been running the government breaching the party discipline and is liable to expulsion from the party. The faction had earlier relieved him from the portfolio of chairman and named senior leader Nepal as Dahal’s co-chairperson.

Speaking at a program organized by Constitution Surveillance Group in the capital on Friday, leader Nepal shared that they are preparing to oust Oli from the party itself. “He is not a suitable person even to be a party member,” said Nepal adding, “One who violates the constitution, doesn’t abide by party rules and breaches the party’s decisions, can’t be accepted as a member of the party.”
Nepal, who came down heavily upon Prime Minister Oli during his speech, charged that Oli has already formed another party. He also claimed that the Oli-led faction has lost its legitimacy to lay claim on the party’s name as NCP and Sun as its election symbol. “He [Oli] is not authorized to use NCP as the party name as he has already registered NCP- Unified Marxist and Lenist.”
