KATHMANDU, Oct 2: A team from the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has raided the office of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN). The team took some “important” documents from the office located in Sinamangal. The raid was conducted on Wednesday as the CIAA team is investigating suspected irregularities within CAAN.

Earlier, complaints of irregularities during the construction of various airport projects and CAAN's building had been filed with the CIAA. According to sources, the raid was conducted after necessary documents were not provided in connection with that investigation. The CIAA has already been investigating Pradeep Adhikari, the Director General of CAAN, on suspicion of involvement in the irregularities.
