KATHMANDU, Aug 9: Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIN) has called on the government to guarantee the rights of indigenous, ethnic and marginalized groups through the amendments to the constitution.
Inaugurating a rally held this morning, marking the 22nd International Day of the World's Indigenous People, NEFIN Chair Nagendra Kumar Kumal claimed the new constitution had failed to ensure the rights of indigenous nationalities in line with agreements reached with the government towards that end. So the constitution should be revised to ensure their rights, he demanded.
