Eligible persons can apply within seven days from the date of publication of the notice along with a copy of citizenship, biodata, educational certificate, experience disclosure certificate, professional action plan, and two copies of photos, the ministry said.

After failing to withstand the pressure of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Minister of Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma, the Chairman of the NTA, Purushottam Khanal, resigned on January 9 with seven months left of his tenure.

With the resignation, the cabinet formed a committee to recommend a new chairman under the coordination of the secretary of the Communication Ministry. The responsibility of acting chairman of the NTA has been given to Nabaraj Adhikari, who is also a board member.
