Calibration flight at TIA conducted

KATHMANDU, March 4: The mechanical test flight (calibration flight) for the runway test of the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) has been completed.

KATHMANDU, March 4: The mechanical test flight (calibration flight) for the runway test of the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) has been completed.


According to TIA, the two-day calibration flight was completed today. The calibration flight was carried out for two hours from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday. Regular flights were disrupted as the test flights took place on Thursday and Friday.

The airport had issued a notice to airmen (NOTAM) regarding the calibration flight scheduled for today.  


The aircraft that were on hold in the sky due to the calibration flight have been allowed to land at the Kathmandu airport.


The aircraft that arrived for the calibration flight will remain in Nepal for a few more days and after a few days the calibration flight will resume at TIA.
