SURKHET, June 7: Budget session of Karnali Province Assembly began on Monday. The session scheduled to start at 2 pm is expected to dwell on the provincial government’s budget, policies and programmes for the next fiscal year (2021/22) and the measures to control the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the meeting, a letter relating to a session calling from the chief of the province, new appointment, reshuffle and work allocation at the cabinet will be read out, according to the Province Assembly Secretary Jibaraj Budhathoki.

Participating political leaders will put their views on current issues, he said.
An all-party meeting held on Thursday at the initiative of Speaker Raj Bahadur Shahi urged the provincial government to summon a budget session at the earliest date. The provincial government needs to present the budget on June 15 and unveil government’s policies and programmes at least a week ago at the Province Assembly meeting as per the constitutional provisions.
