What are the most productive ways to make boredom interesting? Boredom makes you feel lazy, sleepy, lethargic, and frustrated with life in general. One doesn’t know what to with oneself, and the clock seems to be moving at a snail’s pace.

However, it is possible to make your boredom vanish away into the thin air. There are ways to make life more exciting even amidst the endless seas of yawns and more yawns. The Week brings to you some ways to liven up your life.  [break]

Youtube Dare

Everybody does weird stuff at random times when they have nothing better to do. That desire to be a rock star that you secretly harbored since you were eight, that favorite scene from “The Scent of a Woman” that you wanted to try out since forever, and the particular hip swinging move that Shakira displayed in the song where she swore on their credibility, all of it can become a reality. Try them all out when you have the time and if you dare, upload them on Youtube for further entertainment and feedback.

Maniacal Makeovers

Who says Lady Gaga gave you a fright the last time you saw her? Why, you could be just as good (or bad) as her! You can apply makeup on your face, perhaps get your eyes caked up a bit too heavy with eye shadow and get your lips done in two different colored lipsticks. Your face can get all rosy and glittery and your hair can be arranged at a weird angle. Then, you can pose with a pout and click away to your heart’s content.

A Superb Gift Idea

It’s your friend’s birthday next week and you don’t know what to give her as a gift. You have loads of free time at hand that you can utilize. Don’t use your own boredom to produce more boredom in the universe. Utilize your own circumstances to make life more interesting for the others. You can make music CD full of wacky songs for your friend. You can put them on at midnight instead of chanting the boring old “Happy Birthday to You!”

For Décor Fanatics

You have a whole afternoon to yourself and you have a roomful of objects. Of course, you should make use of them! You can paint your favorite quote on a banner and hang it above your door or window. You can also make a bunting out of some strings and old maps or atlases. Just look around a bit. Your old furniture pieces might need a fresh coat of paint. For that, first, you’ll need to sand them down and then give it a base coat after which you can paint it the color of your choice. And what’s with the boring brown front door? Give it a bright color instead of the regular neutral. Try bright red, royal blue or even vibrant yellow. And why don’t you color coordinate your books? Group them by the color of their spines or choose to cover similar genre of books in a particular color.

For Fashion Fanatics

Give your old clothes a new life. You can add pretty laces to an old skirt or cut off the hemlines of another. If you’re in the mood to be a little experimental, dyeing a top or a dress can be fun. And if you want to be extra creative and mix your décor instinct with your fashion sense, get some old clothes and prepare a multicolored quilt by sewing them up together.

These are just some ideas to make your boredom more fun. As the old saying goes, An empty mind is the Devil’s workshop. Maybe by doing these, you can give ole Devil a little less business to deal with?
