Bomb hoax creates panic in New Banewshowr; Rs 3,50,000 robbed from nearby firm

KATHMANDU, March 4: Locals and pedestrians were gripped with panic after a suspicious object, believed to be a bomb,was recovered near the Rastriya Banijya Bank in New Baneshwor in the capital on Sunday afternoon.



Following the scare, a bomb disposal squad of Nepal Army called in to the site. It was later confirmed that the object was not a bomb.



Meanwhile, an unidentified person carrying a pistol has robbed Rs 3,50,000 from ABI International, a money exchange firm, located some 200 meters away from the site, our photojournalist Dipesh Shrestha said quoting police.



The culprit, while running away with the loot, warned employees at the firm that he implanted a time bomb. The bomb disposal squad is looking into the explosion threat.
